.54 Caliber smoothbore Martial pistol manufactured by Simeon North of Middleton Conn. 10 " round barrel with swivel style ram rod. Single barrel band retained by spring with steel butt cap and straps. Manufactured 1822 with sliding safety. Converted to percussion. Walnut stock has single oval cartouche on left side . A total production of 20,000 pistol were manufactured from 1819 through 1823 with most being converted to percussion with continued use until the implantation of the revolver.
Very good as cleaned and converted to percussion. Lock markings have been removed at time of conversion with exception of 1822 date. Bore is good although dark. Lock operates properly. Stock is good with a small amount of material loss above hammer.
